Chaplin Nature Centre

Open seasonally from May – August, the Chaplin Nature Centre is a great stopover point. Located mid-way between Moose Jaw and Swift Current along Highway 1 it includes a wonderful interpretive area where you can learn all about the shorebirds that call Chaplin Lake home on their migratory journey, the Sodium Sulphate Mine operation, and the Brine Shrimp that also call the lake home. It also has a gift shop where you can purchase a variety of unique finds from vendors around the area and keepsakes to memorialize your visit.
Shorebirds

Thousands of shorebirds make Chaplin Lake a vital stopover point on their migration journey. The over 30 species of birds stop either stop to rest, or nest and raise their young before continuing on.
Chaplin Lake is the second largest saline water body in Canada covering more than 15,000 acres.
