Welcome to the Village of Chaplin

Established in 1912, the Village of Chaplin is conveniently located along the Trans-Canada highway just over 80km’s from both Moose Jaw and Swift Current at the junctions of Highways 1, 19, and 58. With amenities such as a K-12 school, grocery, library, and a gas station with c-store it’s a great community to live away from the bustle of city life.

Chaplin is also a major shorebird stopover point. The Chaplin Lake area is a designated Western Hemispheric Shorebird Reserve Network site. Starting in the early spring you can catch a glimpse of a variety of shore birds in the surrounding area or from the lookout at the Chaplin Nature Centre. You can also stop in at the interpretive centre learn more about the shorebirds, the brine shrimp that also call Chaplin Lake home, and the Sodium Sulphate mining operation.
